Church in Kilmacoom

Church

What is recorded here

Jones (1910, 58) recorded a church probably founded by Mochaomhoc at Killmaccoomogh, 'an old name for Fort William, near Cahirduggan'. Location of church site unknown; Power (1932, 100) suggests that it is identical with church site at Kilbyrne (see 14176). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
