Church in Killahurler Upper

A church identified by Ronan (1927, 107) in 'ACHADERLAR, or Orlar's Field. Who this person was we do not know. But the fact that the church was dedicated to St. David points to a Welsh foundation. In Theobald Walter's grant to teh Cistercians for an abbey at Arklow the lands bestowed are said to reach as far as the lands of John de Pencoit. And in 1283 we find that Henry, son of Henry de Pencoit, granted Christ Church Priory, Dublin, the lands of Killahurler, and, evidently the church thereon'.
