What is recorded here

Childrens Burial Ground beside a Galway ringfort is a lost rectangular enclosure where only broken banks remain. It measured about sixteen by thirteen metres when first mapped, large enough for a small field but now reduced to grass and faint earth. The absence of markers does not empty the place; it withholds the names of the children who belonged there.

Abutting ringfort (GA029-074----) at SSW. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as an enclosed rectangular area; only NW and SE sides now survive (NW-SE 16m, NE-SW 13m). These are defined by a low bank, which runs along the outer edge of the fosse on NW side. The interior is level and grass-covered and no visible surface trace of any grave-markers survives.
