Dense gorse and ferns still choke the children's burial ground on the north shore of Bere Island, hiding what local memory claims is a cillíneach. The land resists easy viewing, forcing anyone who comes to listen through the thorns rather than look through them. That much overgrowth suggests the island kept this place separate, perhaps deliberately, leaving the small dead outside the reach of ordinary maps and visitors.

In rough grazing land, largely covered with gorse and ferns, on the N shore of Bere Island. According to local information, this is the location of a 'cillíneach' or children's burial ground.
