Children's burial ground in Na Mine

Close to seashore at Cora an Chaisleáin. When inspected in February 1984, an unenclosed roughly L-shaped area (N-S 26m, E-W 20m), which was being transgressed by the storm beach, was visible. Numerous small set granite boulders marking burials were evident in the interior (SMR file). On a revisit in January 2018, following winter storms, the limits of the site were more difficult to define as a result of storm material, consisting of boulders, being dumped on it. However, a number of fairly recent stone-lined family plots were visible. An inscribed graveslab, dated 1860, to the memory of two sisters aged three years and one month, respectively, that was exposed following storms in late 2013/early 2014 was still visible on the foreshore (Bunbury 2014).
