Half a kilometre north-west of the old tower house, small bones waited beneath grass now lost to hotel grounds. Children died young in that valley, and their parents gave them a separate place rather than mixing them with adult graves. Men with machines arrived in the 1960s and erased the shape of that tenderness. What remains is a absence you can still picture: shallow earth, short lives, and the cruelty of forgetting written in levelled soil.

Not marked on the OS maps, this site was known locally as a burial ground for children and is noted as a cillín in the IFC Schools' Collection. It was located in the grounds of Dunloe Castle Hotel, c. 50m NW of the tower house (KE065-103----), and was levelled during the 1960s. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Cillín (children's burial ground), 18th–19th century. This site reflects historical Christian burial practices for unbaptized or stillborn children, often associated with rural and Gaelic traditions in Ireland.
