What is recorded here

Ten small cairns, each about three metres across and half a metre high, cluster in the northern centre of the Cappalisheen hilltop enclosure. The local story calls them a children's burial ground, giving the quiet stone circle a heartbreaking clarity. They sit on a slight rise overlooking a basin to the east and southeast, with higher hills standing watch at 500 metres east and a kilometre north. The size of the mounds fits the claim, making the landscape remember what it lost before writing learned to record it.

About 10 cairns (diam. c. 3m; H 0.5m) in the N central area of hilltop enclosure (RO048-158001-) are regarded locally as a Children's Burial Ground.
