Derrycashel holds a small triangular children’s burial ground beside an early church, where grave markers still scatter the shelf below the drumlin’s east-facing slope. The south wall of the church, a drystone wall at its east end, and the boundary wall toward Lyonstown enclose the place, giving it the shape of a forgotten chamber rather than an ordinary field. Children may have been laid to rest there for generations, their names lost but their small presence kept alive in the stones.

On a shelf at the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin, and of early ecclesiastical origin. A triangular area (dims 12.5m E-W; 12.5m N-S) defined by the S wall of the church (RO003-020001-), the drystone wall overlying its E end, and the NE-SW drystone wall and townland boundary with Lyonstown to the N is strewn with grave markers.
