Ardagh children's burial ground stands in gort-na-luggan on the west slope of a hill, where a small stone mount marks the resting place of the young. The field faces open views to the west and north, giving the dead a wide horizon instead of a crowded churchyard. Local memory treats the site as a cillin, a separate ground for children, and that distinction still shapes how the place is spoken of.

Information on this monument supplied by William Casey on 2 April 2013. He describes it as 'In pasture on the west slope of hill, with good views to the west and north. The cillin site consists of a mount of stones roughly 2m in diameter and about 0.3m high. The site is known locally as a children’s burial ground.
