What is recorded here

Cheese Bay consists of sedimentary rock formations, primarily sandstone and shale, estimated to be from the Devonian period, around 400 to 360 million years old. These rocks were formed from ancient river and delta deposits and are notable for their well-preserved bedding and fossil content, typical of the geological sequences found in the Western Isles.
