Charles K. Gerrard was born in County Carlow, Ireland, on 20 December 1883, before becoming an American movie actor who played dashing leads from 1916 to 1934. He appeared in more than sixty films, including Richard the Lion-Hearted and The Glimpses of the Moon, and died in New York City on 1 January 1969. His brother Douglas also worked in films as an actor and director.
