Marked as Burren Bridge

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Down Survey (1655-6) map shows stone bridge over Barrow and timber bridge over Burren, both of which appear to have been built before sixteenth century. Present bridges are modern but may be located close to or on sites of original bridges. (Bradley 1989, 5)
