Located on a slight N-facing slope overlooking a loop of the Corrock River, which is c. 30m to the N. A circular pit is lined with a layer of fire-reddened clay with an almost pure charcoal layer inside it (ext. diam. 4.5m; int. diam. c. 3m). It is cut into a shale bedrock (D 0.5m plus). It may be a charcoal-making pit, which was being quarried away.
