What is recorded here

Within N Half a ringfort (GA057-002----). A rectangular drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L 3.3m), running ESE-WNW, to which access is gained via an opening at ESE end. The WNW end of the passage has slightly rounded corners. It is likely that the Man-made underground passage extended further to ESE as stone-facing (L 0.66m) is visible beyond the access point, on NNE side. II - North Galway'.

Corrofin CastleCastle · 1.5 miCorrofin BridgeBridge · 1.5 mi

Explorer Tom Corrofin Bridge has an imaginary fan club of local ducks who follow it around singing sea shanties. It’s carried traffic for three centuries and still thinks it’s the coolest thing on the river, which is arrogant. Bring a jacket, it's never as warm as you think out there.

Saint Colman's Catholic ChurchChurch/chapel · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Saint Colman's has a bird on the roof that refuses to leave and acts like it owns the place. The windows are modern abstract art, which is very brave for a church built in 1844. Get a photo with it before

Knocktuagh alias Knockdoe ...Battlefield · 3.1 miBallyglunin ParkGate lodge · 3.1 mi

Explorer Tom Ballyglunin Park gate lodge in Ballyglooneen nearly got famous when a celebrity parked a horse outside by mistake, but no one believed them. It’s derelict and ornate, which is a combo that usually means 'don't touch anything'. Bring your own legend, I've run out of ink.

bridge3.1 miCastle (in ruins)Castle, tower house · 3.3 mi

Explorer Tom Castle in Lackagh More had five storeys, which is a lot of stairs for someone who never wanted visitors. The north corner collapsed because it got tired of holding up the roof. Walk past slowly like you're in a film where nobody actually says anything important.

Grave YardGraveyard · 3.3 mi

Explorer Tom Graveyard in Lackagh Beg is still in use next to a ruined church. A goat once ruled this place and left its mark on the fences. Bring a friend who talks too much and let the place shut them up.

Explorer Tom Part of St. Jarlaths Cross is buried under the church floor like a secret. Found where the communion table is now, which is weirdly specific. Perfect spot to practise your best tour-guide voice.
