Ballymaglancy Cave is a dark, linear passage cutting through Carboniferous limestone near Cong, where lesser horseshoe bats still ride the air in tangled ribbons. The townland name points to a human family, perhaps the Clancy line, giving their address to the earth itself. That much is clear. What is missing is the shape of the lives that led them to name the hole, to walk its length or leave it alone. The cave keeps that gap closed.

In NE quadrant of a rath (GA106-010001-). This poorly preserved drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L >6.8m; Wth 1.5m max.; H 0.68m max.) curves slightly from E to W.
