Freestanding former demesne entrance, built c. 1830, comprising pair of screen walls having slightly projecting pilasters with castellated battlements. Now in use as hotel entrance. Roughcast rendered walls to east elevations and rubble stone walls to rear. Pointed arch blind openings with render surrounds and cut limestone sills. Rubble stone demesne boundary walls attached.

Imposing Gothic Revival entrance which clearly defines the boundary between demesne and town. A very notable and unusual landmark, set on a prominent site, on the main Youghal to Cork road.
