What is recorded here
Stonehouse in County Waterford may hold a lost castle, named only on a 1655-6 survey and never since placed. That absence makes the castle both forgotten and alive, present in the landscape but refusing to show its stones.
A Castle is recorded on the terrier of the Down Survey map of Kilmeaden parish (1655-6) at Stonehouse. It remains unlocated.
