Leckagh, four cottages, and a vanished castle belong to one another in that much of the Civil Survey. Whether the castle is gone or misnamed changes what the answer can claim. Leckagh is not a complete castle record because the name and the account leave a gap.

Castle described in the Civil Survey 1654-56 as ye ruines of fower cottages castles (vizt) Leckagh (Simington 1934, Vol. 2, 325). Castle remains unlocated within the townland. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
