Castle in Hacketstown, County Waterford, lost its stones when men carried them five kilometres northwest to Whitestown. The castle itself vanished from memory and marker, leaving only a gap where a wall should stand. What remains is a hole in the landscape, shaped like a building and deep enough to swallow a name.

The site of a castle, from which the stones were removed to Whitestown (WA007-022----) c. 5km to the NW, was known (Martin 1874-5, 248), but this location cannot now be identified. Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of Upload: 4th November, 2010.
