Castle, unclassified in Doonard Lower,tieraclea Upper is an ancient castle or manor house belonging to the O'Conners at Tarbert, recorded in William Molyneux's late 17th century geographical collections for Kerry. Its exact location has been lost, but it may still lie buried beneath grass, roadworks or forgotten fields. The O'Conners lived there, defended it or simply owned it while Kerry changed around them.
