Noah O’Duigenan likely controlled the land beside the triangular lake where the castle stood, though the exact stones have vanished from memory. The O’Duignan family served as bards and teachers across north Connaught, suggesting this was a house of learning as much as defence. A tower on the southern shore of Corrachoosaun Lough may have watched the water while hosting poets, disputes and quiet rituals. The castle remains unclassified because even its location has slipped away, leaving only the lake and the names behind.

A castle is depicted as a tower at Corneabarne on the S side of a triangular lake (Corrachoosaun Lough) on the Down Survey (1657-8) map of the part of Fenagh parish within Leitrim barony. The castle is mentioned in the terrier or commentary, and according to the same source Noah O’Duigenan owned 122 acres at Corquasane and Cornaborne (No. 30). In the part of the parish in Mohill barony he owned 128 acres at Corbarke (Corrabarrack), the unknown Cororoe, and Cornegonmore (Cornagon) (No. 78) in the Mohill part of the parish. Much of the land in Fenagh parish was owned by other members of the O’Duignan family, who were bards and ollamhs (teachers) to the Conmaicne and other Gaelic families of north Connaught and north Leinster (MacNamee 1954, 630).
