Castle stands unclassified in Ballytarsney, County Kilkenny, its true form hidden behind a blank official record. The absence of facts does not diminish the place; it hands the shape of the castle over to memory and imagination. What is missing may have been a tower, a courtyard or a boundary wall, but the void itself becomes the chamber where witness and invention meet.
