Laraghcon: A castle vanished before human memory, its stones swallowed by a woolen mill and river silt. Two maps argue about where it stood, one placing it beneath factory floors, the other beside a steep scarp. The Liffey took what Dublin forgot, leaving only a name and a hole in the ground where pride once stood.

The 1937 edition OS 6-inch map shows 'Castle (site of)' on the N bank of the River Liffey at a site which is occupied by a Woolen Mill. This location differs from that shown on the earlier 1837 OS 6-inch map. It is shown on the N side of the road where there is a steep scarp today. Not visible at ground level.
