What is recorded here

Situated at the corner of St. Patrick's Road and Castle Street, on the E side. Noted at the 'Castle (site of)'. The castle belonged to Richard Walsh in 1641. Known as 'Castle House' because it had been converted into a dwelling house by Robert Barry c. 1765 (Kelly 1952, 15 - 16). No visible surface trace remains. Richard Walsh held Castle House in Dalkey in 1641; it is remembered as a historic site linked to the Walsh family and the broader history of the Irish Confederate Wars.
