The depot once stored and serviced buses; its wide doors and open floor now shelter full-sized vehicles. Displays add uniforms, destination blinds, tickets, photographs and workshop equipment.

What survives

Historic buses and the working shape of the depot remain together, so visitors can see vehicles in a building made for their daily care rather than in an unrelated display hall.

Why it mattered

It records the everyday journeys that let island residents reach work, school and shops, while saving large vehicles and operating knowledge that are easily lost when fleets change.
