Castle

Situated on a SE-facing slope. This is a flat-topped, grass-covered earthen mound (dims of top 21.6m N-S; 17m NE-SW; diam. of base 32.5m N-S; 29m NE-SW; H 3.3m at N to 4.2m at SW) defined by wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 9-11.5m; max. Wth of base 3m at S; ext. D 1.5m at N to 2.3m at NE) with some scrub that only survives NW-E-SE (max. ext. diam. 45m N-S). The foundations of large oval structure (int. dims 7m E-W; c. 4.5m N-S) defined by a small earthen bank (Wth 1.3m; H 0.3m) with an entrance on the S side is at the S edge of the summit, and there is a sunken area (int. dims 7m E-W; c. 4.5m N-S; D 0.7m) at the N edge of the summit.
