Castle rises seven metres above marshy scrubland in Doon Upper, its steep western, northern and eastern faces still climbing like a forgotten wall. The circular mound stretches forty metres across, though disturbance has scarred the fifteen-metre summit where people may have stood, watched or lived before vegetation swallowed the shape. It remains a sharp, overgrown shadow on the hill, preserving more of its original violence than most galway landscapes admit.

On a steep hill in marshy scrubland. Poorly preserved overgrown circular mound (D c. 40m) with very steep sides on W, N and E faces (H > 7m). The summit (D 15m) is much disturbed.
