Detached three-bay single-storey with attic accommodation former gate lodge, built c. 1800, with catslide roof to rear (east) and flat-roofed extension to north elevation. Now in use as house. Half-hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystack. Rendered walls. Square-headed openings with replacement timber windows and door and render label mouldings. Rendered boundary walls with wrought-iron railings and square-profile piers to pedestrian entrance having wrought-iron gate. Rubble stone boundary wall to south with rubble stone sweep walls to entrance, having central entrance with replacement gates flanked by pedestrian entrances formed by paired square-profile piers with linking wall having segmental-arched openings, one blind and one having timber battened door.
The scale and form are characteristic of modest gate lodges, as are simple decorative elements such as label mouldings. Main site entrance and boundary walls form notable feature on the roadscape, due to its tall and castellated form.
