What is recorded here

Cashel is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Cashel (castlereagh By., Bellanagare Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1914 Ordnance Survey map marked a circular feature with an external diameter of about 55 metres on a low rise in a level landscape. OS Name Books described it as a circular stone fort, but reclaimed pasture now hides it from ground level.
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular feature (ext. diam. c. 55m), and situated on a low rise in a level landscape. Described as a circular stone fort (OS Name Books), it is not now visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
