Semi-detached single-bay two-storey over basement with dormer attic house, built c.1850, having hipped roof two-storey canted bay window to front (south-east), later two-storey pitched roof extension to side (north-east). Recent flat roof extension to side. Rendered walls throughout main block, having roughcast rendered walls to extension. Pitched artificial slate roofs with uPVC clad overhanging eaves with timber corbels, rendered chimneystack, gabled dormer window, recent rooflights and uPVC rainwater goods. Square-headed window openings with render sills throughout, having uPVC casement windows. Pointed arch window opening with render sill to gabled dormer, having uPVC casement window. Square-headed door openings to later extension and basement level of rear elevation having uPVC doors. Rubble stone boundary wall to front having rendered square-profile piers and timber gate. Rubble stone and concrete boundary wall to rear having gate piers and timber gate.

Part of a series of seven pairs of houses set along the main street overlooking the harbour, these semi-detached houses form an integral part of Monkstown's character. They were built to accommodate the permanent and temporary residents who came to the recently established resort town for sea bathing, taking the air and healthy living, which grew in popularity throughout the nineteenth century. The canted bay window, gabled dormer window and oversailing eaves are typical features of the time, and represent the height of contemporary architectural fashion.
