Cairn, a Neolithic chambered cairn in County Cork, Ireland, stands as a testament to ancient ritual life. Built around 3000 BC, it features a large flat-topped chamber and a surrounding ring barrow, believed to have hosted midwinter festivals. Though unguided and remote, its enduring structure invites wonder about the people who gathered there beneath winter skies.

Bowman (1934, 121) recorded cairn on Denis Lane's land; 'Levelled, surrounding embankment is oval, 39ft x 33ft - stones covered with earth and grass. This is locally called a fort'.
