Cairn is a large low circle of granite stones in County Carlow, with one quartz boulder breaking the monotony on its north-west side. It belongs to a larger group of cairns, suggesting the landscape once held several such markers rather than a single isolated feature. The quartz may have caught eye or light, giving the circle a small unusual point amid ordinary stone.

A large low cairn (diam. c. 5m; H c. 0.5m) predominantly made up of granite stones except for one quartz boulder on its NW side. A Neolithic cairn; likely dates to the Early to Middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3000 BCE). Its construction using granite and the inclusion of a quartz boulder may indicate ritual or symbolic significance, common in early megalithic traditions of the region.
