Burnt spread in Courtbrack — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Ten metres of dark soil and scattered stones mark a vanished fire beside the Courtbrack ringfort. The earth still holds heat from kitchens, forges or festivals now forgotten. A person may have stood there at dawn, breathing smoke into the valley before the field swallowed the trace.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, c. 40m E of ringfort (8222) and adjacent to well. Grass-covered spread of dark soil containing some stones; according to landowner, spread measures c. 10m X 10m. Material not consistent with that of fulacht fiadh. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
