What is recorded here

Situated on a slight N-facing slope at the S foot of Tara Hill. An area of burnt and broken stone in a black matrix (dims. 16m E-W; 12m N-S) was visible when the area was ploughed. Burnt mound (WX007-058002-) is c. 40m to the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). Burnt mound (WX007-058002-), likely dating to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age, is associated with ritual or industrial activity involving heat. Its location near Tara Hill may indicate broader ceremonial significance in the Brú na Bóinne landscape.
