Discovered in monitoring (03E1374) of a road project during 2003 (Gannon 2004, 6, site 8). A layer of burnt material (dims c. 10m x 10m) was revealed in monitoring, and was preserved in situ. Burnt mound (RO011-160006-) is c. 13m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
Burnt mound, likely dating to the Bronze Age. Its significance lies in providing evidence of ritual or industrial activity associated with heat-related practices common in prehistoric Ireland.
