Burnt mound in Carrowmoran

In rough, poorly-drained pasture, located on the W bank of a stream. Low circular mound (10m N–S; 7m E–W) composed of small stone fragments in black soil. The mound is marked by a covering of short grass which contrasts with the long grass and rushes elsewhere in the field. There is another burnt mound (SL012-119003-) 4m to N, and a fulacht fia (SL012-119001-) c. 30m to S. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 20 May 2013
