Burnt mound in Carrowgarve South is a small, irregular, heather-covered rise on the west bank of the Fiddaunglass stream, made of burnt stone fragments in black soil at the edge of rough, poorly drained pasture. It belongs to a linear cluster of burnt mounds along the stream, near a partly destroyed fulacht fia twelve metres to the north, and may be displaced material from that older hearth rather than a complete mound in its own right. The place still smells of water, heat and interruption: a kitchen fire broken open, its stones scattered into the wet field, leaving behind a low dark ridge where human urgency once touched the land.

Located in rough, poorly drained pasture, on the W bank of the Fiddaunglass stream, a tributary of the River Deel. There is a forestry plantation to NW. A low irregular-shaped, heather-covered rise (4m N-S; 3Mm E-W) of burnt stone fragments in black soil located at the edge of the stream. The nature of this mound is uncertain: its small size and disturbed appearance suggests the possibility that it is displaced material, possibly even derived from a partly destroyed fulacht fia (MA038-205---), which lies 12m to N.
