Burn Castle

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Burn Castle as Bastle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Burn Castle is a medieval bastle, likely built in the late 16th or early 17th century, by a local landholder for defensive purposes during a period of clan conflict and border instability in Scotland. It is remembered as a small but significant example of Scottish defensive architecture from that era.
