Burial in Trasgarve

On a NW-facing blanket bog-covered slope in the Ox Mountains. Two partial human skeletons were discovered in 1969 during turf cutting. The two skeletons were oriented E–W, with the feet to E. Skeleton One comprised most of the upper and lower limb bones but the skull and vertebrae were not recovered. Skeleton Two comprised only some of the lower limb bones, which partly overlay those of Skeleton One. No features or textural difference in the surrounding peat suggested a grave structure or pit.
