What is recorded here
Ten feet east of the ogham stone, a slight mound of stones still marks a forgotten grave in the level pasture beside the Slaheny River. Captain D. B. O'Connell found that buried shape in the 1930s, though no visible remains survive to confirm whose body it held. The grass has long since swallowed the edge of the ditch, leaving only a faint pressure in the earth where someone was once set down to sleep.
In level pasture, on the E side of the valley of the Slaheny River. In the 1930s Capt. D. B. O'Connell noted that about 10 feet [3m] E of the ogham stone (KE094-018001-) was 'a slight mound of stones which may indicate a grave site' (KAS). There are no visible remains of this grave. O'Connell also noted another possible grave site (KE094-018003-) in the adjoining field to the SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
