Clonguiffin in County Meath, Ireland: a 1971 plough strike opened a buried life, and the field still carries the local name nunnery. That much is clear. The missing part is not a fact but a shape: whose body, when it fell, whether the earthworks marked a chapel, a garden or a boundary. The land kept the answer intact until a blade cut it free.

In 1971 human remains were discovered while ploughing on a farm. The site was known locally as the 'nunnery' and a number of earthworks were once visible in the field (NMI, Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol 2, 501). Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 14 March 2013
