Eighteen bodies sleep beneath Betaghstown, most locked inside stone-lined boxes while others crouch in bare pits. E.P Kelly uncovered them during 1980, revealing Iron Age deaths that predate written memory. The dead likely belonged to the mound and cist standing nearby, suggesting a continuous ritual landscape where the living kept company with the gone.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 10 July 2007 Eighteen burials, the majority placed in slab-lined graves, recovered in excavation by E.P Kelly during 1980. Some burials were crouched in pits and all appear to be Iron Age in date. Associated with mound and cist (ME021-010001-).
