Burial ground in Rossacon

Burial ground

What is recorded here

Rossacon held a church and burial ground on J. O'Donoghue's land, but even Bowman could not point to the exact spot in 1934. The deaths and prayers that filled the place left no marker behind. Forgetting removed what ceremony had preserved.
Bowman (1934, 184), recorded church site and burial ground (CO023-252001-) on J. O'Donoghue's land where 'no remains now to be seen'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
