Lionsden in County Meath hid at least three bodies in shallow pits, waiting for a farm digger in September 1986 to break the silence. The exposed lower limbs and two perforated scallop shells suggest medieval burials stripped of ceremony, as if urgency or fear drove people to bury what they could carry. The ground did not announce itself; it gave up only when disturbed, proving that forgotten death still occupies ordinary soil.

In September 1986 human remains were discovered during digging on a farm. The remains consisted of human lower limbs representing at least three individuals. They appear to have been unaccompanied inhumations in unprotected pits.
