Burial ground in Labbyeslin

There is a late nineteenth century reference to a graveyard in the townland of Labbyeslin that had whitethorn trees, and from which the townland got its name (Williams, TCD MSS 1483 (G.S. 17-20). The name Labbyeslin from Leaba Eislinne – Eilslin’s Bed – suggests a megalithic structure rather than a graveyard.
