Killeany Beg holds a forgotten burial ground beside a church named in a 15th century rental. The exact spot has vanished, but the name still points to dead people, prayer and memory beneath ordinary ground. Forgetting did not erase the place; it only removed the marker.

Westropp (1904-5, 397) lists a church and burial-ground in 'Killeany' which is mentioned in a 15th century rental. Exact location not known, but likely to be in either of the adjacent townlands, Killeany Beg or Killeany More.
