Inishlee Island, County Mayo: a lost burial ground, possibly for children, beside a church no longer visible. The 1838 OS Letters called it Inis-Laogh, Island of the Calves, and said the ground had fallen into disuse. It vanished from later maps and evaded a 1996 inspection, leaving behind a small absence where grief should have kept its shape.

On Inishlee island in Lough Conn. This burial ground is not indicated on the 1838 and 1930 OS 6-inch maps, however, the 1838 OS Letters record that ‘On Inislee, Inis-Laogh –the Island of the Calves-, which lies in the north end of Lough Conn, it is said there was formerly a burial ground, which fell into disuse.’ (Flanagan 1927, 28 (12)). There may have been a church (MA039-114001-) associated with the burial ground, and Aldridge (1969, 86) records that it was used as a children's burial ground (MA039-114003-).
