What is recorded here
There is a tradition of a burial site on the promontory of Rusheen Point on the N shore of Lough Melvin where those who could not be buried on Inishtemple island because of rough weather were buried (Faughnan c. 1943). He describes it as an area of rough ground covered in furze but there were no headstones evident. This location is not known.
