What is recorded here
Mortons and company are in a quiet county, but quiet is not the same as empty. The place is a burial ground, which means it is a memory that refuses to be forgotten. People may have walked past it for centuries, dropping flowers, asking nothing, and leaving changed. The dead do not need to be famous; they need to be remembered.
