Burial Ground (Disused)

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps; shown on 1937 OS 6-inch map as roughly circular area (c. 45m NE-SW; c. 40m NW-SE) defined by broken line, enclosing church site (14518). In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Low scarp (H 0.66m) defines edge of enclosure (C 46m) SW->E. Interior under grass. Known locally as 'fairy ring'. According to local information, during ploughing "in the past" several headstones were found and dumped into "nearby field fence". Bowman (1934, 161) was informed that 'many years ago portion of the site was ploughed and human bones unearthed'.
